CONGRATULATIONS to MHS CHOIR MEMBERS, Sean O'Dell and Lauren Bacon and MHS band member Lindsey Stager for their fantastic performances last night at the SJMEA honor festival. These three students were combined with the top musicians from Whatcom, Skagit and Island County High Schools to form the elite SJMEA honor band, choir and orchestra. Thank you Lindsey, Lauren and Sean for representing MHS so positively.

SING LIKE TAYLOR SWIFT WINNER!
This November, aspiring singers in seven country music strongholds will compete for a chance to meet Taylor Swift and have a meeting with a major record company. Meridian High School student, Emma Bernardy, has completed the first half of the constest and has won a trip to Chicago to attend a Kellie Pickler concert. She is moving on to the finals to represent Washington State. Vote for Emma at Seattle Finalist and listen to her radio interview podcasts on seattlewolf.com.

The cool and wet weather has certainly signified our move into the busy fall season! Soon we will be celebrating Thanksgiving! The school year is off to a terrifc start. The staff and students seem to be adjusting to the new BLACK/GOLD schedule. Students are excited about the new classes that are being offered this year. There are a few things to remind parents of as the year progresses:

THE MHS CHEERLEADERS 4th Annual Treasures and Trinkets Holiday Craft Fair will be held on November 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the old gym at the high school. We are featuring a clown and a sno cone vendor this year and many wonderful crafters and vendors. Come enjoy the fun!!


Attention Winter Sport Athletes.
Winter sports begin in one month, November 16. Make sure you have turned in all your paperwork to Mr. Larsen, and paid your athletic fees upstairs in the attendance office, before the first day of practice. (more)
